Peter Dallison was born in 1965 in Glen Cove, New York and raised there until the age of nine. At the age of 10, his family permanently relocated to their 170 acre summer retreat farm northeast of Toronto, Canada. It was there that Mr. Dallison gained a great love of the landscape. Raised by parents who had emigrated from England, their love o f life was always an inspiration for Mr. Dallison. As a boy, Mr. Dallison would spend many childhood afternoons drawing and painting alongside his father, Ken Dallison, himself an accomplished professional illustrator. These early years in life laid the artistic groundwork for Mr. Dallison. Mr. Dallison creates his works in encaustic and oil paint on panel. Encaustic is a medium of dry or wet pigments suspended in melted wax, often beeswax, or resin. His use of encaustic results in a uniquely warm and textural painting capturing the subtle nuances of light and shadow. Mr. Dallison also paints private commissions of people's homes and the surrounding landscape. These works capture the character and personality of the home amongst a beautifully rendered landscape. He has painted over 600 of these commissioned home portraits. Mr. Dallison's art can be found in corporate and private collections across North America and Europe. He lives with his wife and three children in South Orange, New Jersey.
